My friend recently starting taking Lexapro (4 days ago) and has complained often about being very fidgity afterwards. She took it at night time once and had extreme difficulty getting to sleep, but she is going to try to take it in the A.M. to prevent that.

Lexapro should always be taken in the am as is true of all SSRI’s as they can cause insomnia. Often this effect is temporary and subsides within 2 weeks, but if it persists she may need to switch meds or actually have the dose increased. Tell her to contact her doc if it doesn’t improve in 2 weeks.
